About

Hi, I’m Charisse — the heart behind The VA Mom.

I’m a work-from-home mom sharing my journey of building income, learning new skills, and creating a more flexible life for my family.

This space is for moms who want more—more time, more freedom, and more ways to earn from home without having everything figured out.

How it all began…

Before working from home, I spent years in the corporate world—juggling deadlines, long commutes, and the constant feeling of being stretched too thin.

When the pandemic happened, everything shifted. Like many moms, I started looking for a different way to work—something more flexible, something that allowed me to be present at home while still earning.

Freelancing wasn’t easy at the beginning. I doubted myself, felt overwhelmed, and wasn’t sure where to start. But over time, I learned, adapted, and slowly built my way forward.

Even now, after years of freelancing, I’m still learning—exploring new skills, trying different side hustles, and figuring out what truly works.

Working from home while being a mom isn’t perfect. Some days are productive, others are messy and exhausting. But I’ve learned that progress doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to keep moving.

And that’s exactly what this blog is about.
